*Personality: Playful, mischievous and a little impulsive, Seren has a great many members of her family wrapped around her little finger. She is an open-minded, open-hearted individual who will accept most people with equal friendliness. She is usually a good judge of character as a result of her skill with Soul magic. Whilst it is uncommon for her to lose her temper, she does possess one if suitably provoked and she is definitely no pushover.

*Skills and Abilities:
Shape-shifting: Seren’s dragon form is a hybrid of the Silver and Steel forms of her parents. Her Badb Catha bloodline also gives her the ability to shift into raven form.
Draconic Abilities: Natural/racial abilities she possesses include the ice and lightning breath weapons common to the Silver Kin, as well as the gaseous breath weapon associated with the Steel dragons. Unlike an Aerdonian Black, a Steel possesses the ability to regulate which gases are expelled due to their differing densities, thus choosing whether to breathe a toxic cloud, or a more flammable methane-based mixture. Like all Kin she possesses the skill of transmutation, or molecular alteration. This magic can be used for healing, however, to use it in such a manner causes the dragon to tire quickly and if used too much, can completely exhaust it.
Magic: Seren is an Ay’thryn Mage. This elemental magic is the ability to tap the very soul of Aerdon, known to the Black Kin as Sha’tris, and draw on ‘her’ power to perform magic of almost any sort. Generally speaking, the PortalMasters of the Eheiling Nahrn are Mages of Ay’thryn, and Seren has shown a similar talent for portals, albeit so far on a smaller scale. She can also use her ability with Ay'thryn (and thus leylines) to locate things, which she senses as a distortion of the line. It is this talent that has given her the title of 'The Seeker'. The closer she is to the thing in question, the more accurate she can be. Further away, all she gets is a sense of general direction. She also has a touch of ability with Soul. In her this demonstrates itself as a sense of someone's real emotions or intentions, as well as a tendency to see such things as colours on occasion.
Fighting Abilities: In addition to her natural ability to form blades and spikes from her own scale in two-legger form, Seren has been trained in the use of daggers from the age of three years old, with other weapons being added to her repertoire as she got older. As a female of both Badb Catha and Blackthorn blood, she trains with the Ravens and Orsha Une as well as with the Guard. She has also learnt Tah Kata from Ronyan Nyem.
Academic Interests: Seren has been well educated in a variety of subjects including astronomy, history, geography, foreign languages, natural sciences, music, art and politics, the latter a necessity because of her close ties to the Black Dragon throne.

*History: The daughter of Brandubh and Mira Badb Catha, Seren is the youngest and only girl of the triplets. She spends most of her time on Aerdon, either at her parents’ chateau by the lake or at Blackthorn Keep, but enjoys the opportunity to travel. At the age of twenty five she was amongst the 'children' who were brought in during the war on Whispin in a desperate bid to hold back the UnderRealm (Crucible of the Storm). In the rebuilding which followed, she was recruited to Cal'Lanth Blackthorn's newly-formed Black Guard as a combat medic. Her relationship with Carrick Niruin, which had existed since she was sixteen years old, broke up around this time with both acknowledging that they were better friends than they were lovers. In the year that followed, she found herself becoming friends with Brandyn n'Aelin, a friendship that became something more.
Misc Information:
- Seren’s soul is silver, steel grey and jade green in colour and in its ground state will often appear to be a mist in form. At the heart of this burns a flame that is the core of the individual’s soul.
- The Liante is a type of golden orb spider which, according to Shydeni myths, can never get lost.
