*History: Taryn was born in Ostohelyanwe to Fintan and Grian Haetira. He is the twin brother of Aeveen Haetira, of whom he can be very protective. During The Alchemist's Diary he meets Risabelle Starcatcher who is on a student exchange to the Academy in Ostohelyanwe. There is an immediate attraction between the two and, with their characteristic reckless, both swiftly act on it. After much nagging from his family to make their relationship official, the pair eloped to the Temple in Ostohelyanwe the morning after his twin sister's marriage to Cinlaar Icewalker (The Disappearing Isle).

- Taryn’s soul is periwinkle blue in colour and in its ground state will often appear to be a mist in form. At the heart of this burns a flame that is the core of the individual’s soul.
