*Personality: An unplanned surprise baby, there is a large age gap between Neirin and his three older siblings. As a result, Neirin has been a little more indulged than they were and has been allowed to run a little wild. Whilst there is no true malice in his nature, he can be reckless and he occasionally speaks or acts without thinking.

*Skills and Abilities: Neirin has been brought up as befits a Lord of the Aarataure. He has been educated in subjects such as art, literature, history and etiquette. Like many Aarataureans, his magic is elemental in nature and is inclined towards water magics. In Neirin this includes the ability to call water up from the ground to form a natural spring or stream, the ability to manipulate water, and the ability to call aquatic creatures.

*History: The youngest child, and third son, of Merwyn Keraera and Andais Gaelean, Neirin has been brought up exclusively within the bounds of the Aarataure. His first visit outside was to Teklan to participate in the negotiations for his betrothal to Meridyth Braungaine, daughter of the Emir of Teklan. Meridyth returned with him to the Aarataure where they wed. The couple visited the Three Duchies and the Tauremorna whilst investigating Meridyth's maternal ancestry, in the latter place meeting Tristan Narmoquente, Meridyth's elven grandfather, who returned with them to the Aarataure. All three were later involved in rescuing the Summer Lady and returning summer to Elemmiire. However, on a visit to the Tauremorna with her grandfather, Meridyth disappeared. Despite searching, Neirin was unable to find any trace of either her or Tristan and was forced to return home alone. As the years pass, he began to assume that the loss was permanent, and he found himself drawn to an Ingralean studying in the Aarataure called Tasarė Stormfall (The Alchemist's Diary). The feeling proved to be mutual and after several months he proposed (The Disappearing Isle). They married at Eirėlla House, Ostohelyanwe, in a ceremony attended by family and friends (Changes). They bonded on their wedding night.
Misc Information:
- Neirins soul is cornflower blue in colour and in its ground state will often appear to be a mist in form. At the heart of this burns a flame that is the core of the individuals soul.
- Like all Aarataureans, Neirins native spoken dialect is a musical tongue, not dissimilar in sound to Terran Irish, and this is reflected in his accent when speaking Common or other languages.
- He is allergic to iron.
- His childhood best friends were Taryn Haetira and Cavan Laiqualosse.
