Clothing: Erin is most likely to be seen in either the uniform of a Captain of the Black Guard or a form-fitting black leather corset top with matching trousers and boots. Her personal sense of style is dramatic and she favours black and dark red in particular. If she isn’t dressed like a dominatrix, she’ll probably be in something equally revealing. Her attitude is that if people are dumb enough to be staring down her cleavage instead of watching what her claws are doing, that’s their problem.

Personality: Cold and deadly in battle, Erin is possessed of the typical Black aggression and fiery temper. She will hardly ever back down from a fight and has been known to keep going to the point of near-insanity. In combat she will always aim to kill and as quickly as possible. This is because she knows that many of those she faces will be both bigger and stronger than she is and so she tries to take them down before that advantage can be used against her.

Skills and Abilities: In addition to her natural ability to form blades and spikes from her own scale in two-legger form, Erin is skilled with many different blades. As a Black, she is able to use fire as a breath weapon. However, she is also gifted by her goddess and god with the Flame. This gift is cast from the hand.
Weapons: Favours daggers and short swords when fighting in her human form. Can wield dragonfire with deadly accuracy.

Brief History: Erin is one of the captains of the Black Guard, a faction of Callan’s army that is composed of 15 Flights of pure Black Dragons. Each flight consists of several Wings of dragons and make up a group that has been fanatically loyal to Callan Blackthorn for thousands of years. The Black Guard is loyal to Callan only, and still address him as Araxmarr or by his full draconic name. Blood-bonded to Araxmarr since the age of 2900, she is Marked on her right shoulder blade with the Blackthorn Crest, the ring of black thorns with the rampant dragon in the centre.
Erinya has one sibling, a brother, Kor’inth. Loyal to the then Emperor, Nargus, he betrayed his family, handing them over to Nargus when he discovered their allegiance to Araxmarr. Their sire, Valas Dhaunae, and his mate both died in the Hanging Gardens. Erin has never forgiven Kor, considering him a KinSlayer. As the last surviving member of her House, she became Vor’ill of what had been until that time a powerful House Major.
Events during the civil wars that raged during the season of Laer Drae Sar’da caused her to come to doubt the fitness of the Blackthorn line to rule the Diirlathe. Considering elves to be inferior beings, Erin despised the chosen mates of most of the ruling family. Bran had managed to gain some respect because of his victory over Daemonorel, however both he and Mira carry elven blood and the idea of a half-breed on the throne was one that was not acceptable to the Black. Whilst, therefore, still considering Callan the best hope for the Aerdonian dragons, Erin believed that his relationship with An’Thaya was a weakness that needed to be removed. It was this that led to her attack on the Empress during the battle, not jealousy as is commonly believed.
Since then the Black has come to accept, in part, the presence of the others within the Keep. The Silver Guard, newly formed during the civil wars, was a source of distrust and antagonism for many amongst the Black Guard. This was especially true of Erinya and a Silver Captain, Areq Datari, whose fiery confrontations became notorious, the pair frequently having to be separated by their commanding officers when training flights degenerated into a brawl. The true nature of their feelings for one another slowly become apparent to the couple, their antagonism merely a mask for a love they both at first found difficult to accept, and they have since bonded.
Other Information:
- Erin is generally believed to hoard daggers, which is true, but she also hoards crystals. These can vary from shards and geodes of natural minerals, to the natural glass sculptures formed when lightning strikes the desert sands. However, this fact is known only to her bondmate and her closest friends. Everyone else is unaware of it.
- Her soul is black and garnet red.
- Her scent is usually considered to be reminiscent of deserts and smoke, like most of the Black Kin, but also spices, autumn fruits and, according to Areq, lavender.
- Her heart and organs are in a reverse position from Humans and other humanoids, all Aerdon Dragons having a heart located on the RIGHT side of their body. All single organs are also located on the reverse side.
