*Personality: Like most djinn, Anka has a passionate nature. She does possess a temper and when seen it can be fiery, but she is generally of a sunny disposition and she does not hold grudges. Self-consciousness is not a common characteristic amongst her people. Most djinn are hard to embarrass, and will often be unable to comprehend why others would feel uncomfortable about nudity and Anka is no different. To them, all forms are natural and beautiful, something to be proud of rather than ashamed.

Magic:The Djinn are the direct descendents of those fire elementals that originally occupied the planet, alongside their cousins of water, earth and air, when the world was new and freshly born of stardust and molten rock. As Elemmiire cooled, as oceans formed and atmosphere threw a protective blanket around the globe, the elementals took on more solid form to walk the lands and it was amongst such races as these that the djinn belonged. But the race never lost their kinship with fire, and it is a being of flame that is considered to be their ‘true form’ for all others can be altered to suit their purposes. Like all of her kin, Anka can therefore wield the fire and smoke that is her ancestry. Magic of all kinds is hers to command. In addition, from her Badawi maternal grandmother, she has inherited a touch of precognition and the ability to read auras.

*History: The daughter of the Desert Djinn Khayru ben Hassan and his half-Badawi half-Djinn concubine, Maja ben Qasim, Anka was brought up in Alshazar in the R'Kesh of Elemmiire. She eventually came to work as a dancer at the Phoenix in Teklan, owned by her half-brother, Rashid ben Hassan. There she met Leutian ShiaToh and they became lovers. She returned with him to CathEska to meet his family and they mated. However on a visit to Elemmiire, she found it impossible to return to CathEska for reasons she has yet to explain. Contact with Leutian was lost and their bond severed.
Although pained by this loss, she has come to accept that that relationship has ended and it has brought home to her how swiftly life can change, leading to a 'seize the moment' attitude. This attitude is why when she met Cobin Icewalker, she leapt headfirst into a relationship with him, becoming his lover shortly after their first meeting (The Disappearing Isle).
Misc Information:
- Her soul, like that of most djinn, is smoke-like in appearance. In colour it is carnelian and yellow ochre.
- Her scent is warm and spicy, reminiscent of nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Her bonds to Corielle and Sara were an unintended consequence of the magical explosion that resulted from the bonding of Corielle and Sara.
- Used to wear a gold band engraved with felinumeara glyphs on either side of a running cheetah worn on her right bicep. The glyphs translate as 'for the flame that leaves a mark'. This was given to her by Leutian ShiaToh. After their bond was severed, she removed it, but keeps it in a chest in her room with other personal items.
